In the BSA, 2023 the principle that ADMISSIONS are NOT CONCLUSIVE proof, but may operate as an estoppel, is located in Section 25 (part of the admissions chapter), whereas in the old Indian Evidence Act the effect of admissions on conclusive proof was old Section 31. Admissions may be proved as against the person who makes them, but the person is not bound by them conclusively. The estoppel element is distinct from evidentiary admissibility.
