Between 1009 AD and 1026 AD, Mahmud of Ghazni conducted numerous invasions across the Indian subcontinent, including Kabul, Delhi, Kanauj, Mathura, and many other regions. His final invasion of India occurred in 1026 AD when he attacked the Somnath temple in Gujarat, located on the coast of Saurashtra (Kathiawar). This is considered his most significant invasion, as he plundered all treasures and precious artifacts from the fortified temple. Mahmud of Ghazni died in 1030 AD, four years after this invasion.
