Hemant Soren, the leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), was sworn in as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand at the Morabadi Ground in Ranchi. This marks his fourth term as the Chief Minister of the state. He had previously served from 2013–2014, 2019–2024, and briefly in July 2024, when he took oath for the third time after securing bail from jail. Jharkhand's Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar administered the oath of office. The JMM-led alliance secured a strong victory in the Jharkhand polls, winning 56 out of 81 seats, with the JMM itself winning 34 of the 43 seats it contested.
