• Simple Majority refers to a majority of the members of each House present and voting. Abolition or creation of legislative councils in states and widening the jurisdiction on the Supreme Court can be done by a simple majority. • Absolute Majority refers to more than half of the total number of members of the house, whether they are present or not.
