Former England fast bowler James Anderson was awarded a knighthood for his services to cricket as part of former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's resignation honors list. Anderson retired from Test cricket in 2024 after an illustrious career spanning 188 Tests with 704 wickets, making him England's all-time leading wicket-taker in the format. He currently plays for his county team, Lancashire. Anderson was the only sports personality included in the Prime Minister's Resignation Honours list, which allows outgoing Prime Ministers to recommend individuals for various honors in the British honors system.
