World Thyroid Day is observed annually on 25th May to promote awareness and understanding of thyroid diseases, their symptoms, prevention, and treatments. The day was established in 2008 during the congress of the European Thyroid Association (ETA) . The day also marks the anniversary of ETA's foundation in 1965.
