Bhuwan Ribhu made history by becoming the first Indian lawyer to receive the prestigious ‘Medal of Honour’ from the World Jurist Association (WJA) at the World Law Congress held in the Dominican Republic . He was recognized for his two decades of legal work in child protection , during which he filed over 60 Public Interest Litigations (PILs) that led to landmark court rulings , including the definition of trafficking aligned with the UN Protocol . He also founded Just Rights for Children (JRC) , the world's largest legal intervention network for child protection, active in 41 districts of Madhya Pradesh . His recognition underscores international acknowledgment of Indian contributions in the field of child rights law.
