This initiative is a significant step towards the nation ’ s commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship . By utilizing hydrogen as a clean fuel, the Indian Navy is leading the adoption of sustainable transportation within the Armed Forces . The Memorandum of Understanding ( MOU ) between IOCL and the Indian Navy includes the provision of the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus for trials and performance testing . The MOU was signed by VAdm Deepak Kapoor and Dr . Kannan Chandrasekaran, and it was witnessed by Adm Dinesh K Tripathi and Mr . Shrikant Madhav Vaidya . The operation of this bus will facilitate a comprehensive study on the performance, durability, and reliability of hydrogen fuel cell technology in public transit, symbolizing a commitment to innovative solutions for climate change and energy security .
