Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers GRSE Ltd. signed a deal with the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research NCPOR for the construction and delivery of an ocean research vessel ORV. The deal is valued at 840 crore and was signed on July 16. The ORV, which will be capable of conducting Underway Swath Multibeam and Geophysical Seismic surveys in both coastal and deep waters, will also be used for the training and education of scientists and technicians, thereby enhancing research capabilities. The project is expected to be completed within 42 months and is the third order secured by GRSE in the last month.
