Sentences of a paragraph are given below. While the first and the last sentences are in the correct order, the sentences in between are jumbled up. Arrange the sentences P, Q, R and S in the correct order to form a meaningful and coherent paragraph.

1. A leopard was searching for food in a village.

P. A Shepherd looked inside the pit and called out to the others that a leopard has fallen in it.

Q. Just to have fun, some Shepherds threw stones at the Leopard.

R. The Leopard did not see the pit and fell into it.

S. There was a big pit in the village, which was covered with dry leaves and sticks.

6. However, some kind Shepherds threw some food inside the pit so that the Leopard could stay alive.

Solution

Here, in P and R, ‘the pit’ is mentioned. So, something about a pit should be mentioned earlier. Also, Q as the first in the set doesn’t make sense because we don’t know where the shepherds came from. S should be the first sentence. R follows S. After that, P is correct, as other shepherds will come only after the first one calls out. Q is the last in the set. So, the correct sequence is SRPQ.
