The Chief Executive Officer is Member Secretary of Food Authority. The Chief Executive Officer of the Food Authority is an Officer not below the rank of Additional Secretary to the Government of India appointed by the Government of India as the executive head of FSSAI. The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Food Authority. CEO draws up of proposal for the Food Authority's work programmes in consultation with the Central Advisory Committee (CAC) and is responsible for implementing the work programmes and the decisions adopted by the Food Authority.
