Management Aptitude Test 2024
The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardized examination established in 1988 to assist Business Schools (B-Schools) in evaluating candidates for admission to MBA and related programs. Recognizing its significance, the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, endorsed MAT as a national-level test in 2003. Administered by the All India Management Association (AIMA), MAT offers a platform for any B-School, whether national or international, to consider MAT scores as part of their admission criteria, utilizing the scorecards issued to candidates. With over 600+ B-schools in India accepting MAT scores, it serves as a gateway to a wide array of educational institutions. Currently, registration for the February 2024 sessions of MAT is open. Before you proceed to apply for the MAT exam 2024, you must go through all the important details, like the MAT exam pattern, MAT syllabus, MAT eligibility criteria, and MAT exam dates 2024.
MAT Notification 2024
- The MAT exam is conducted four times a year by the All India Management Association (AIMA) in the months of February, May, September, and December.
- The February 2024 MAT PBT exam is scheduled for February 25, 2024, while the MAT CBT exam is slated for March 10, 2024.
- The February 2024 MAT exam results will be declared in the third week of March 2024. Candidates will be required to download their MAT score from the official AIMA website.
How to take the MAT Exam 2024?
The candidates can take the MAT exam as
- Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT) or
- Paper Based Test (PBT) or
- Computer Based Test (CBT) or
- Paper Based Test and Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (PBT+IBT) or
- Double Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT+IBT) or
- Computer Based Test and Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (CBT+IBT) or
- Paper Based Test and Computer Based Test (PBT+CBT)
Please Note:
- Candidates have the option to choose an extra test mode (e.g., IBT+IBT, PBT+CBT, IBT+PBT, IBT+CBT) by paying an additional fee of ₹1200/-, supplementing the standard fee of ₹2100/-.
- Opting for an additional test mode allows candidates to designate two more Management Institutes for score transmission, in addition to the existing option of selecting five Management Institutes, thereby enabling a total selection of seven Management Institutes.
How to Apply Online for the MAT Exam 2024?
All the candidates interested in applying for MAT 2024 (Feb) Entrance should be aware of the complete application process. If you fail to apply correctly, you will not be able to appear for the examination. The application will have to be done online. You also need to fill in all the correct details in the application form. There are some simple steps for the same:
- Create your login first by visiting the AIMA website mat.aima.in
- Login using your email, password & date of birth. After entering all the details you will have to click on “submit”.
- You will be directed to the registration form and there you need to fill in all your details along with your choice of Management Colleges.
- The next step would be to upload your photograph & signature.
- The scanned photograph should be in jpeg /jpg format with size within 10 KB - 50 KB.
- The signature should also be in pg/jpeg within the size of 5 KB - 20 KB.
- Submit the online application fee through one of the online payment options given there.
- View your final registration form and you can download and keep the copy with you or take a print of the same.

MAT Application Fee
Upon completion of the MAT application form, candidates must proceed to finalize the application process, which entails the payment of application fees. Payment of the MAT exam application fee is exclusively through online mode. Candidates should ensure the availability of a valid debit/credit card or net banking facility to facilitate the payment process securely. It is imperative to complete the payment step promptly to confirm the application submission and ensure participation in the MAT exam. Please complete the payment within the stipulated time to avoid the rejection of the application. The MAT application fee details are given below.

List of Participating Management Institutes
- The list of participating management institutes will be available on the AIMA website
- Four-digit codes for Management Institutes/University Departments accepting the MAT Score are given in the List of Participating Institutes/Universities as MI Code.
- There are five fields given in the Registration Form.
- Select the codes of those five institutes only where you have applied or are applying for admission.
- No additional fee is to be paid for filling in these 5 choices.
- Candidates opting for both PBT and CBT will have the benefit of selecting additional 2 Management Institutions for sending their scores in addition to the existing option of selecting 5 Management Institutions i.e., they can select 7 Management Institutions in total.
- The number of participating MI’s may vary. The number of MI’s keeps on changing from test to test. Admission criteria for every institute are different.
- All MIs participating in MAT are either AICTE, DEC approved, University affiliated College or University Department.
- For further information, you may contact the MIs/Universities of your choice. The list of various MIs/Universities is available on the AIMA Website along with the admission notification (particular administration).

MAT Admit Card 2024
- All provisionally registered candidates both for Paper Based and Computer Based Test, can download their Admit Card from the AIMA website link.
- A specific Admit Card is generated both for the candidates who opted for the Paper-Based Test and for the Computer-Based Test.
- The MAT admit card will be released on February 22, 2024, for the MAT PBT and March 08, 2024 for MAT CBT.
- Admit Card contains the Candidate's Name, Form No, Roll No, Test Date, Test Time, and Test Venue Address.
- The candidate must strictly follow the date and time allotted to him/her in the case of a Computer Based Test.
- The Admit Card contains the Test Centre Address with Center Code, Form No, and Roll No of the test.
- No separate special card is issued.
- Also, the activation of a test center depends upon the minimum number of registrations.
