Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Notification 2025
The Indian Coast Guard or ICG is the important coast guard force responsible for India's maritime boundaries, ensuring life in the sea, and safeguarding interests of India in its exclusive economic zone. Being an affiliated body of the Ministry of Defence, the ICG acts as a vital component in various search-and-rescue operations, combating smuggling and piracy, and environmentally protecting the sea. The Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant 2025 Notification has been made open for candidates to apply on respective post under the 2026 batch. The recruitment is taking place for two branches such as General Duty (GD) and Technical (Engineering/Electrical). The notification specifies its eligibility criteria, which states age, educational qualifications, and gender specifications. Eligible candidates for General Duty should be males with a minimum age of 21 to 25 before July 1, 2025. Candidates in this age group and interested only to join the Technical branch of ICG can also apply; only males are eligible, not females.

How To Apply Online

- A candidate may apply for one post only.
- Please log on to https://joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in and register yourself with your e-mail ID/mobile number.
- Once you have registered yourself, sign in and begin filling in the form.
- Provide all the data asked carefully and correctly.
- Upload all the documents required.
- Cross-check all the information that you have entered. Any incorrect data may lead to the cancellation of your application.
- Pay the application fee.
- Submit the form to complete your online application.

Candidates will be required to upload documents in two phases, i.e., at the time of application and if and when the candidate is shortlisted for the Stage 2 exam. The list of documents to be submitted in the ICG Assistant Commandant online application are:
Passport size recent colour photograph - The candidate has also to upload the latest photograph during registration. Additionally, live image of the candidate will be captured during the registration. The facial features of the candidate in the uploaded photo will be matched against the Real-time photo. The candidate will be able to submit the application, only in case of photo match. Live image will be captured in every subsequent stage and compared. Passport size recent colour photograph taken not before June 2024 (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs). The photographs is to be taken without spectacles with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters

Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Admit Card
The availability of downloading e-admit cards for stages I, II, and III will be given at the ICG website. The candidates are expected to regularly check the website, and log in to download the e-admit card of each stage. Email communication will not be made on the availability of the e-admit cards.
Details of the examination city will be available in the candidate's login at least 10 days prior to Stage I. The e-admit card, along with the exact address of the examination center, will be available in the candidate's login, and an email will be sent to the registered email ID 2-3 days prior to the exam.
Candidates who fail to download their e-admit cards or attend any stage of the recruitment process will have their application canceled. The ICG will not be responsible if the candidates do not regularly visit the website for updates relating to e-admit card downloads and other instructions of each stage (I-V). Candidates are required to keep their mobile number and email ID active throughout the recruitment process for regular updates.
Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Exam Centres
The ICG Asst. Commandant Stage 1 exam will be held for the eligible applicants, which will be conducted at various centres all over India.
The ICG Asst. Commandant Stage 2 exam will be held for eligible candidates who clear the Stage 1 exam at centres in Noida, Mumbai/Goa, Chennai, Kolkata, Shillong and Gandhinagar only.
SC/ST candidates who are not Government Central or State Government employees, traveling from a place whose distance from the examination center is more than 30 kilometers will be reimbursed for ordinary 2nd class train fare, government bus fare, or steamer charges for traveling by the shortest route.
The reimbursement will be done by submitting original tickets as per the regulations of the central government. SC/ST candidates should download the travel form from the ICG website and submit it to the Indian Coast Guard. To and fro travel fares will be reimbursed either by AC III/Chair Car or actual normal bus fare by the shortest route, based on original tickets submitted.
For SC/ST candidates appearing for the first time in FSB, 2nd class railway/bus fare will be reimbursed for both PSB and FSB stages, regardless of the number of appearances. For reimbursement, candidates are required to present three photocopies of admit card, caste certificate, and journey ticket.
Candidates must select five preferences for the examination city during the Stage-I application process. The first choice should be within 30 km of the current or communication address. If no examination city is located within this distance, the nearest city must be chosen as the first preference.

Note:
(i) Failure to comply with the first-choice center requirement may lead to cancellation of candidature if found to be contrary during document verification.
(ii) The Indian Coast Guard has the right to allot the examination city, which may or may not be as per the candidate's preferences.
