Question
In the questions given below there are three
statements followed by three conclusions I, II and III. You have to take the three given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements disregarding commonly known facts . Statements: Few Carpet are Rug. All Floor Plastic. No Floor Wall. Conclusion: I. All Wall are Carpet. II. Some Walls are not Carpet. III. All Plastic can be wall.Solution
Few Carpet are Mat(I) + No Floor wall (E) → Some Carpet are not Wall (O). Hence neither conclusion I nor II follow but it will make a complementary pair. Hence either conclusion I or conclusion II follows. No Floor Wall (E) → Conversion → No Wall are Mat(E) + All Floor Plastic (A) → Some Plastic are not Wall (O*). Hence conclusion III does not follow.
