Question
In the question below there are four statements
followed by three conclusions I, II and III. You have to take the three given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the four statements disregarding commonly known facts. Statements: Only few plates are cups. No spoon is cup. Some saucers are spoons. All saucers are bowls. Conclusions: I. All spoons being bowls is a possibility. II. Some plates are not spoons. III. Some plates are bowls.Solution
Some saucers are spoons (I) + Some bowls are saucers (I) → Probable conclusion → All spoons may be bowls (I). Hence conclusion I follows. Only few plates are cups (I) + No cup is spoon (E) → Some plates are not spoons (O). Hence conclusion II follows but conclusion III does not follow.
