    In the question below there are three statements followed by two conclusions I and II. You have to take the three given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the three statements disr egarding commonly known facts.

    Statements: Only a few hemispheres is atmosphere.

    None of the atmosphere is atom. No atom is a base. Conclusions: I. A few atmosphere being base is a possibility. II. No hemisphere is an atom.

    Solution

    None of the atmosphere is atom (E) + No atom is base (E) → Probable conclusion → Some atmospheres may be bases (I). Hence conclusion I follows.

    Only a few hemispheres is atmosphere (I) + None of the atmosphere is atom (E) → Some hemispheres are not atoms (O). Hence conclusion II does not follow.
