    In the question below some statements are given followed by three conclusions I, II, and III. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusion definitely follows from the given statements, disregarding commonly known facts.

    Statements: Some pole are rope. Some rope

    are tyre. Only tyre is wheel. Some engine are tyre. Conclusions: I. No wheel is engine. II. Some rope is wheel. III. Some pole are engine.

    Solution

    Only tyre is wheel → All wheels are tyre and wheel cannot have any positive relation with anyone. Hence conclusion I follows but conclusion II will not follow.   Some pole are rope (I) + Some rope are tyre (I) → No conclusion. Hence conclusion III will not follow.
