    Statement B can be inferred from the passage. The passage states that after a decade of research (i.e. after 10 years of research) scientists have understood the cause of the allergy. And since the passage is from 2015, the scientists understood the cause in 2015. Therefore, they didn’t know the cause of the allergy in 1990.
