    Five friends Ajit, Chaman, Ram, Gaurav, and Pinku are

    sitting in a row facing north. Ajit is sitting at the left end while Pinku is sitting second from the right end. Ram is not an immediate neighbour of Ajit an Gaurav. Only one friend sits between Pinku and Gaurav. Who is sitting in the middle of the row?

    Solution

    Ajit is sitting at the left end while Pinku is sitting second from the right end. Only one friend sits between Pinku and Gaurav, means Gaurav will sit to the left of Pinku. Ram is not an immediate neighbour of Ajit and Gaurav. This means Ram will sit to the immediate right of Pinku and Chaman will sit at the place left in between Gaurav and Pinku.   Final arrangement is shown below: From above arrangement, it is clear that Chaman is sitting in the middle of the row. Hence, the correct answer is (B).
