Question
Which of the following statements is definitely true as
per the given arrangement? Read the information carefully and answer the given question . Ten people are sitting in two parallel rows, containing five people. In one row, R, S, T, U and V are seated and all of them are facing north and in second row, G, H, I, J and K are seated and all of them are facing south, not necessarily in the same order. Each person also likes a different Cities namely, Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Alwar, Pune, Nagpur, not necessarily in the same order.  T sits exactly in the centre of the row and faces the one who likes Jaipur. K faces one of the immediate neighbours of the one who likes Jodhpur. The one who likes Gwalior is not an immediate neighbour of K. H is not an immediate neighbour of J and faces the one who likes Bhopal.  R faces the one who likes Alwar. J faces immediate neighbours of V. J does not like Alwar. U is an immediate neighbour of V. H does not sit at the extreme end of the line. The one who likes Nagpur faces north. Only one person sits between K and the one who likes Jaipur. The one who likes Indore sits to the immediate right of the person who likes Udaipur. K does not like Indore. G faces the one who likes Pune. G does not like Jaipur. Only two people sit between R and the one who likes Jodhpur. The one who likes Jabalpur sits opposite to the person who sits left of the person who likes Indore.       ÂSolution
T sits exactly in the centre of the row and faces the one who likes Jaipur. Only one person sits between K and the one who likes Jaipur. So K can be either extreme right or extreme left end of the row. So here we get following two cases: (1) When K sits extreme right end of the row  K faces one of the immediate neighbours of the one who likes Jodhpur. Only two people sit between R and the one who likes Jodhpur. R faces the one who likes Alwar. U is an immediate neighbour of V. So only two places left for U and V. so J can be either at 2nd or 3rd to the right of the 2nd row.  Now we know that H is not an immediate neighbour of J and faces the one who likes Bhopal. J does not like Alwar. H does not sit at the extreme end of the line. It means H sits 2nd to the left end of the 2nd row. So J sits 2nd to the right end of the 2nd row. J faces immediate neighbours of V. so V sits left end of the 1st row. G faces the one who likes Pune. G does not like Jaipur. So G sits left end of the row and I sits at the centre of the row.  The one who likes Indore sits to the immediate right of the person who likes Udaipur. K does not like Indore. So this case is not valid. (2) When K sits extreme right end of the row K faces one of the immediate neighbours of the one who likes Jodhpur. Only two people sit between R and the one who likes Jodhpur. R faces the one who likes Alwar. U is an immediate neighbour of V. So only two places left for U and V. so J can be either at 2nd or 3rd to the left end of the 2nd row. Now we know that H is not an immediate neighbour of J and faces the one who likes Bhopal. J does not like Alwar. H does not sit at the extreme end of the line. It means H sits 2nd to the right end of the 2nd row. So J sits 2nd to the left end of the 2nd row. J faces immediate neighbours of V. so V sits right end of the 1st row. G faces the one who likes Pune. G does not like Jaipur. So G sits right end of the row and I sits at the centre of the row.  The one who likes Indore sits to the immediate right of the person who likes Udaipur. K does not like Indore. The one who likes Jabalpur sits opposite to the person who sits left of the person who likes Indore. The one who likes Nagpur faces north.    Â
