    20% of the remaining amount on grocery, and 30% of the rest on transportation. She manages to save the remaining amount. If she spent Rs. 270 on transportation, what is the amount she saved?

    ATQ,

    Let the salary be Rs. ‘x’.

    House rent = 0.25 × x = Rs. 0.25x

    Remaining salary = x – 0.25x = Rs. 0.75x

    Grocery expense = 0.2 × 0.75x = Rs. 0.15x

    Remaining salary = 0.75x – 0.15x = Rs. 0.6x

    Transportation = 0.3 × 0.6x = Rs. 0.18x

    ATQ:

    0.18x = 270

    ⇒ x = 1500

    Amount saved = x – (0.25x + 0.15x + 0.18x) = 0.42x

    ⇒ 0.42 × 1500 = Rs. 630
