Question
In a row of students from the top to bottom, Richa is
12th from the top and Chetna is 22nd from the bottom. Rai is 13places below Richa and 23 places above Chetna. How many students are there in the row?Solution
Given that, Rank of Richa from the top i.e., 12th  Rai is 13 places below from Richa which means Rai is (12 + 13) = 25 from the top. Rank of Chetna from the bottom i.e., 22nd  Rai is 23 places above from Chetna which means rank of Rai from the bottom (22 + 23) = 45 Now, we get the ranks of Rai from top and bottom which means we can find the total number of students in the row i e 25 + 45 – 1 = 69
