Question
Yukti borrowed a total of ₹24,000, dividing it into
two parts. She paid simple interest on one part at 18% per annum and on the other part at 12% per annum, both for two years. The interest amounts for both parts are equal. What is the difference between the two amounts she borrowed at 18% and 12%?Solution
Let us take one part be x and another one be 24000-x
Given,
(24000-x)* 18 * 2/100=x*12 * 2/100
=> 8640 - 0.36x = 0.24x
=> x = 8640/0.6
=> x = 14400
So, Required difference = 14400 - 9600 = Rs. 4800
