    One is added to odd digit of the first number and one is subtracted from even digit of the first number and then both the digits are multiplied to obtain the second number. (4 – 1) x (7 + 1) = 3 x 8 = 24 (5 + 1) x (2 – 1) = 6 x 1 = 6 (8 - 1) x (5 + 1) = 7 x 6 = 42
