Question

    1350 metres long train crosses a man who is moving in

    the same direction with a certain speed in 30 seconds. If the same train can cross a pole in 25 seconds with the same speed, then find the speed of the man.
    A 16 m/sec Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B 12 m/sec Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C 10 m/sec Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D 9 m/sec Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let the speed of the man be ‘x’ m/sec. Speed of train = 1350/25 = 54 m/sec Relative speed of the train = (54 – x) m/sec According to the question, => (54 – x) = 1350/30 => x = 54 – 45 => x = 9 Therefore the speed of the man = 9 m/sec
