Let the speed of the goods train be ‘s’ km/hr Distance covered by goods train in 17 hrs = s x 17 km Distance covered by express train in 7 hrs = 7 x 119 km Distance covered by goods train in 17 hrs = Distance covered by express train in 7 hrs So, 17s = 7 × 119 ⇒ 17s = 833 ⇒ s = 833/17 = 49 So, Speed of goods train = 49 km/hr
