      Solution

      Speed of train A = 30 kmph
      Speed of train B = 40 kmph
      Time taken by train A to meet train B at 7 AM = 4 hrs
      Time taken by train B to meet train A at 7 AM = 2 hrs
      Distance travelled by train A = 4 × 30 = 120 km
      Distance travelled by train B = 2 × 40 = 80 km
      Therefore, total distance between X and Y = 120 + 80 = 200 km
