In a 50 km race, R, S, and T are running at uniform speed.

If ‘R’ beats ‘S’ by 10 km, and ‘S’ beats ‘T’ by 6 km, then by how many metres does ‘R’ beat ‘T’?
      A 19200 m Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      B 12550 m Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      C 14800 m Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      D 17400 m Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      ATQ,

When ‘R’ covers 50 km, ‘S’ will cover 40 km

Similarly, when ‘S’ covers 50 km, ‘T’ covers 44 km

      Therefore, when ‘S’ covers 40 km, then ‘T’ will cover = (40 × 44) / 50 = 35.2 km

      Therefore, ‘R’ will beat ‘T’ by = 50 – 35.2 = 14.8 km = 14800 metres
