    Let the total journey be = 42 km (LCM of the denominator of 4/7, 5/6) At 10.30 am, Robert covers 4/7 of the whole journey i.e., 42 × 4/7 = 24 km At 4.00 pm, Robert covers 5/6 of the whole journey i.e., 42 × 5/6 = 35 km Therefore, Robert covers (35 - 24) = 11 km in (4.00 pm – 10.30am) = 5.5 hours.
