Question
An amount becomes eight times of itself in 56 years at
simple interest. Find the value of (6R − 25).Solution
Let the amount invested be Rs. 'p'.
Interest earned = 8p − p = Rs. 7p
Simple interest = Principal × Rate × Time ÷ 100
So, 7p = p × R × 56 ÷ 100
Or, R = (7 × 100) ÷ 56 = 12.5
Required value = 6 × 12.5 − 25 = 75 − 25 = 50
