    the first portion at 6% simple interest per annum for 5 years, and the second portion at 20% simple interest per annum for 5 years. If the simple interest earned on the first portion is 4/9 times of the simple interest earned on the second portion, what is the amount of the second portion?
    A Rs 6300 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B Rs 9000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C Rs 5400 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D Rs 7200 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    E Rs 8100 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let first part = Rs. (20100 - x) and second part = Rs. x
    SI on first part = (20100 - x) * 6 * 5/100
    And SI on second part = x * 20 * 5/100
    (20100 - x) * 6 * 5/100 = 4/9 * x * 20 * 5/100
    => 27(20100 - x) = 40x
    => 542700 - 27x = 40x
    => x = 542700 / 67
    => x = Rs. 8100
