    Let the sum invested by the man be Rs. x Time for which the sum is invested = 30 – 10 = 20 years According to the question, {(x × 5 × 20)/100} + x = 4000 Or, 1.6x = 4000 Or, x = 2500 Therefore, the sum invested by the man = Rs. 2500
