Question
A piggy bank contains ₹10, ₹5 and ₹2 coins in the
ratio 3:4:6. If the total amount in the piggy bank is ₹620, how many ₹2 coins are there?Solution
ATQ,
Let the number of ₹10, ₹5 and ₹2 coins be 3x, 4x and 6x respectively.
ATQ:
(3x × 10) + (4x × 5) + (6x × 2) = 620
Or, 30x + 20x + 12x = 620
Or, 62x = 620
Or, x = 620 / 62 = 10
So, number of ₹2 coins = 6x = 6 × 10 = 60
