    Question

    Four numbers ‘W’, ‘X’, ‘Y’ and ‘Z’ are

such that ‘W’ is double of ‘X’, ‘Y’ is half of ‘X’, and ‘Z’ is the average of ‘W’ and ‘Y’. If the sum of these four numbers is 950, then find the value of ‘Z’.
A 200 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 250 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 300 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 220 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let the value of ‘X’ be ‘4x’ So, value of ‘W’ = 2 × 4x = ‘8x’ So, value of ‘Y’ = 4x/2 = ‘2x’ So, value of ‘Z’ = (8x + 2x)/2 = 10x/2 = ‘5x’ ATQ; 8x + 4x + 2x + 5x = 950 Or, 19x = 950 Or, x = 50 So, the value of ‘Z’ = 5x = 5 × 50 = 250
