Question
A total of Rs. ‘K’ was to be distributed among Ravi,
Raju, and Rina in ratio of 5:6:7 respectively but due to some error the money was falsely distributed in ratio of 4:6:8 respectively such that Ravi received Rs. 1800 less. Find the value of 2K.Solution
Let the total amount [K] be Rs. 18x
So, amount which Ravi was supposed to receive = 18x × (5/18) = Rs. 5x
Amount which was actually received by Ravi = 18x × (4/18) = Rs. 4x
ATQ,
5x - 4x = 1800
⇒ x = 1800
Also,
K = 18x = 18 × 1800 = Rs. 32400
Therefore, required value,
2K = 2 × 32400 = ₹64800
