Two numbers are in the ratio 7:4. After adding 2 and 6
to them respectively the ratio becomes 2:3. Find the bigger number.Solution
Let the two number’s be 7x and 4x. According to the question, => (7x+2)/(4x+6) = 2/3 => 21x + 6 = 8x + 12 => x = 6/13 So, the bigger number will be, => 7x = 7 × (6/13) = 42/13
