      and 10 paise coins in the ratio 3 : 8 : 10. What is the number of 50 paise coins?
      A 112 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      B 108 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      C 96 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      D 84 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      Let the number of 1 rupee, 50 paise and 10 paise coins be 3x, 8x and 10x, respectively.

      Value of 1 rupee coins = 3x × 1 = Rs. 3x

      Value of 50 paise coins = 8x × 0.50 = Rs. 4x

      Value of 10 paise coins = 10x × 0.10 = Rs. 1x

      According to the question,

      3x + 4x + 1x = 112

      8x = 112

      x = 14

      Number of 50 paise coins = 8x = 8 × 14 = 112
