    Given : Average age of 8 colleagues = 16 years So, total age of 8 colleagues = 8 × 16 = 128 years Now, 2 new colleagues join. New average = 16 + 1 = 17 years Total number of people now = 8 + 2 = 10 people Total age of all 10 people = 10 × 17 = 170 years Now, subtract the original total age to find the combined age of the 2 new colleagues: Age of 2 new colleagues = 170 − 128 = 42 years So, average age of the 2 new colleagues = 42 ÷ 2 = 21 years
