Question

In each of these questions, two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equation and mark the appropriate option – give answer

I. 6x2- 41x+13=0

II. 2y2- 19y+42=0

A If, x>y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B If, x≥y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C If, x Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D If, x≤y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E If, x=y or relationship between x and y cannot be established. Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

Solution

I. 6x^2- 41x+13=0 6x^2- 39x-2x+13=0 3x(2x-13)- 1 (2x-13)= 0 (2x-13)(3x-1)= 0 x= 13/2 ,1/3 II. 2y^2- 19y+42=0 2y^2- 12y-7y+42=0 2y (y-6)- 7 (y-6)= 0 (y-6)(2y-7)= 0 y=6 ,7/2 Hence, no relation between x and y can be established
