      I. 84x² - 167x - 55 = 0  84x² - 35x - 132x - 55 = 0 7x (12 x – 5) – 11 (12 x – 5) = 0 (12 x – 5) (7 x – 11) = 0 ∴ x = 5/12, 11/7 II. 247y² + 210y + 27 = 0 247y² + 171y  + 39 y + 27 = 0 19 y(13 y + 9) + 3(13 y + 9) = 0 (19 y + 3) (13 y + 9) = 0 ∴y = -3/19, -9/13  Hence, x>y
