Let the selling price, cost price and marked price be Rs. 9x, Rs. 6x and Rs. 12x respectively
According to the question,
Profit earned = 9x – 6x = Rs. 3x
Therefore, 3x = 1500
Or, x = 500
Therefore, discount offered = 12x – 9x = 3x = 3 × 500 = Rs. 1500
