Question
A man purchased a laptop for Rs. 15,000 and a mobile phone
for Rs. 10,000. He sold the laptop at a profit of 20% and the mobile phone at a loss of 10%. Find the total profit or loss for him in the transaction.Solution
ATQ,
Sum of cost price of the laptop and mobile phone = 15000 + 10000 = Rs. 25,000
Selling price of the laptop = 15000 × 1.20 = Rs. 18,000
Selling price of the mobile phone = 10000 × 0.90 = Rs. 9,000
Total profit in the transaction = (18000 + 9000) - 25000 = Rs.2,000
