fabric equal to the cost price of 6 metres of the fabric, determine the profit percentage.Solution

Let the selling price of 1 metre cloth be Rs. ‘SP’ and the cost price of 1 metre cloth be Rs. ‘CP’.
ATQ,
30 × SP – 30 × CP = 6 × CP
Or, 30 × SP = 36 × CP
Or, SP/CP = 36/30 = 6/5
Required profit percentage = {(6 – 5)/5} × 100 = 20%
