Question
A shopkeeper marked an article βAβ 28% above the
cost price and sold it for Rs. 1008 after giving a certain discount while he sold an article βBβ for Rs. 3780. If cost price of article βBβ is Rs. 2700 and profit percentage earned on selling article βBβ is 60% more than discount percentage given on selling article βAβ then find the cost price of article βAβ.Solution
Percentage profit earned on selling article βBβ = [(3780 β 2700)/2700] Γ 100 = 40% So, percentage discount given on selling article βAβ = 40/1.60 = 25% So, marked price of article βAβ = 1008/0.75 = Rs. 1344 Cost price of article βAβ = 1344/1.28 = Rs. 1050
