much milk should be added to make it 60 % in the solution ?Solution
Total solution = 50 L Milk = 40% of 50 = 20 L Let x L of pure milk be added. Then, milk = 20 + x New total = 50 + x (20 + x)/(50 + x) = 3/5 x = 25 Hence, 25 liters of milk should be added.
