    Let the length and breadth of the rectangular board be x and y respectively. As we know, Area of the rectangular board = xy New length of the rectangle = x ×107/100 = 1.07x New breadth of the rectangle = y x 93/100 = 0.93y New area of the rectangle = 1.07x × 0.93y = 0.9951xy Area decreased by (in %) = [(xy-0.9951xy)/xy] x 100 = 0.49%
