Let the speed of Arjun be 'x' and that of Rohit be 'y.’ In case 1: 60/x = 2 + 60/y..........(1) 60/2x = 60/y – 1 …. (2) Subtracting (2) from (1) (60/x) - (60/2x) = (2 + 60/y) - (60/y - 1) 60/2x = 3 2x = 60/3 x = 20/2 = 10 km/h The original speed of Arjun was 10km/h.
