Question
Two poles of height 12 m and 17 m stand vertically
upright on a plane ground. If the distance between their feet is 12 m, find the distance between their tops.Solution
Given – AE=17, CD=12        DE=12 AC=? AB = AE-BE=17-12=5. Now use Pythagoras theorem- AC2 =BC2+AB2 =122+52 AC2 =169 AC =13m.
