Question
There are 750 pens (gel + ball) in a shop. Number of gel pens are 50% more than number of ball pens. If 40% of the ball pens are black, then find the number of black ball pens.
Solution
Let number of ball pens in the shop be 'x' So, number of gel pens in the shop = 1.50 × x = '1.50x' ATQ: 1.50x + x = 750 Or, 2.50x = 750 So, x = 300 So, number of ball pens in the shop = 300 So, number of black ball pens = 300 × 0.40 = 120
