Question
A manufacturer produced a total of 24000 items where 40% of
the items were electronic gadgets and the remaining items were household appliances. If 70% of the gadgets produced and 50% of the appliances produced were sold, then find the total number of items sold.Solution
ATQ,
Number of electronic gadgets produced = 24000 X 0.40 = 9600
Number of electronic gadgets sold = 9600 X 0.70 = 6720
Number of household appliances produced = 24000 - 9600 = 14400
Number of household appliances sold = 14400 X 0.50 = 7200
So, total number of items sold = 6720 + 7200 = 13920
